We have just been told by a reader that Soroba House Hotel in Oban, has closed.
It is not clear whether this is temporary or not but the reader concerned said that she has lost money on pre-bookings and that no one is answering the phone.
We can confirm this last point as, after getting the information, we tried to make contact with Soroba House ourselves and the calls went unanswered.
It will be a real loss of Soroba House Hotel has gone out of business. It has done a great deal of good through the Soroba Training Company in preparing young people for work in the hotel and bospitality sector.
If true this is sad news, however, I guess it’s not too surprising. I went into it the other day to make a booking and couldn’t get the person to whom I was making the request to fully understand what I needed. I didn’t pursue the booking and left. Perhaps closure was already on the horizon.
