Memorial service on Coll for its last laird

Today, 27th September, saw a memorial service held on the Isle of Coll for Charles Kenneth Moncrieff Stewart, the last Laird of Coll.

Known as Kenneth, the last Laird dies in Selkirk on 18th August 2012. He and his wife left Coll 20 years ago, in retiring to the Scottish Borders.

Mairi Hedderwick ghost-wrote and published a book earlier this year (2011) – The Last Laird of Coll - which was a collection of Kenneth’s recollections of his life in Coll; and the obituary we published when he died with contributions from photographer Sue Anderson, of Island Focus, is here.
