Clyde – Commonwealth Games mascot for Lochgilphead on Sunday

Mid Argyll Triathlon & Cycle club are delighted to announce that Clyde, the Commonwealth Games Mascot, will be making one of his first appearances in Lochgilphead after his debut yesterday in Glasgow.

His visit on Sunday 23rd September is being made to support and inspire all the entrants at the Mid Argyll Triathlon. He will certainly cheer them up.

This is the eleventh year of the Mid Argyll Triathlon and will once again see competitors swim 500m in the pool, cycle a loop from the pool along to Cairnbaan, Bellanoch and Drimvore before returning to the pool, then to set out on a 6 km run to Ardrishaig and back along the canal.

Everyone is welcome to come along to the pool to cheer on the competitors or give them your support anywhere during their route. The support is traditionally pretty awesome, with the widespread respect these athletes command,.

Make sure you have your camera handy to catch Clyde in action – and spread the word to come and see all the action.  Someone in the audience on Sunday could be on the start line in Glasgow 2014.

Great that this cheeky chap is taking one of his first ceremonials to Argyll.

The triathlon is once again sponsored by MacQueen Brothers.
