After the pacifier of the initial ‘Taskforce’ meeting, there are as yet no more meetings scheduled. Members have been told that they ‘will be advised as soon as possible’.
Transport Scotland has though, with characteristic speed, now published a summary of the matters raised at the A83 Stakeholder Workshop held in Inveraray back on 22nd August. Here it is: A83_Route_Study_Stakeholder_Workshop_Report

Don’t we all know what the issues are already?
I attended the information event on A82 upgrades in Oban last Tuesday. It seems that the Lochlomonside road will be closed for up to 14 weeks next year during work at Pulpit Rock. At the same time it is possible for a landslide on The Rest and therefore, if this happens, all vehicles will have to use the convoy system along the Old Military Road (OMR). It should take approximately 2 hours to set up the use of the OMR following a landslide and it is expected that if someone misses the end of the convoy they will have to wait approx. 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, there is no timescale to resolve the problems at The Rest.
