Western Ferries’ MD, Gordon Ross, has announced that Western Ferries is increasing the number of its sailings over the coming weekend - Thursday 23rd August and Monday 27th August – to respond to the increased demand from locals and visitors associated with this major annual event.
Western Ferries will be providing a four boat service between Hunters Quay at Dunoon and McInroys Point at Gourock during the following times:
- Thursday 23rd August: 14:00 to 18:00
- Friday 24th August: 13:00 to 20:00
- Saturday 25th August: 08:00 to 23:00
- Sunday 26th August: 09:00 to 16:00
- Monday 27th August from 11:00 to 17:00
Please note that outside these times Western will operate on its normal timetable – except for the 07:00 and 07:30 sailings from Hunters Quay and McInroys Point on Sunday 26th August, which will be cancelled.
Gordon Ross says: ‘The Cowal Games represent a great opportunity to showcase what Dunoon and Cowal has to offer visitors and is therefore a key period for the local community and for local businesses, hence these additional sailings responding to the associated increase in traffic levels.
‘Western Ferries will, as usual, be working closely with the police authorities in Dunoon and Inverclyde to ensure the efficient and safe marshalling of traffic outside the terminals at Hunter’s Quay and McInroy’s Point.’
