Open air Shakespeare and hogroast at Dunollie

The glorious Dunollie House and Castle, the MacDougall stronghold guarding the northern entrance to Oban Bay, is hosting two spectacular outdoor – and active – theatre events on 24th and 25th August, both led by Argyll’s Walking Theatre Company.

On Friday 24th August, the audience is first fortified with a hogroast from 5,30pm, before the Walking Theatre Company, at 7.30pm,  leads them on Macbeth’s Walk through the ancient and atmospheric grounds of Dunollie. No one will be surprised that this is a tale of magic, murder, treason and kings…

On Saturday 25th August its all gentler stuff, consistent with an afternoon event. Conference of the Faeries at 2.30pmon is an enchanted and riotous journey where the mortal and faery worlds collide – and cream teas are served all afternoon until 5.00pm.

The nature of these events makes them unsuitable for anyone with difficulties in walking; and, for obvious reasons,  everyone is advised to dress for the weather on the day and to wear suitable footwear.

Tickets can be ordered in advance via Eventbrite:
