Mid Argyll police reports for week to 6th August 2012

The following are the Strathclyde Police reports for the Mid Argyll area for the week to 6th July 2012.

Theft of Fuel
Between 9pm on Monday 30th July and 3.30am on Tuesday 31st July, a quantity of diesel was siphoned from the fuel tank of a Lorry parked at Kilmory Industrial Estate, Lochgilphead. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to call Lochgilphead Police on 01546 702200.

Theft of Pedal Cycle
Between 1am and 2am on Thursday 2nd August a Black gents pedal cycle was stolen from outside the Victoria Hotel on Barmore Road, Tarbert. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to call Lochgilphead Police on 01546 702200.

Anti-Social and Careless Driving – Vehicle Seized
About 1030pm on Thursday 2nd August, on the A83 near to Kilmory Industrial Estate an incident whereby a car was allegedly driven carelessly and at excessive speed resulted in a 19 year old man being traced and charged with Careless Driving. As the man had previously been issued with an ASBO warning for his driving, his vehicle was seized by Police. A report is to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Disturbance
About 11.55pm on Wednesday 1st August, a disturbance was reported in Ross Crescent, Lochgilphead. Police attended and subsequently a 40 year old man was arrested and charged with alleged Abusive Behaviour, Resisting Arrest and Police Assault. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Traffic Offences
On Thursday 2nd August, 3 men were allegedly driving without wearing their seat belts on the A83 in Inveraray, £60 Fixed Penalty Tickets were issued. Also on the A83 in Inveraray, a woman was charged with alleged speeding and a man with driving while allegedly using a mobile phone, £60 Fixed penalty tickets with 3 penalty points were issued. On the A83 in Lochgilphead, 2 men were charged with alleged speeding, £60 Fixed penalty tickets with 3 penalty points were issued.

Possession of Knife
About 8pm on Friday 3rd August, in Main Street, Inveraray, a 30 year old man was arrested for alleged possession of a knife. At Lochgilphead Police Station, the man allegedly assaulted a Police officer. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Theft
Between 12pm on Sunday 29th July and 1.45pm on Saturday 4th August, a length of Floating rope was stolen from the shore about half a mile south of Ardrishaig. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to call Lochgilphead Police on 01546 702200.

Possession of Drugs
About 3.20pm on Sunday 5th August, in Bishopton Road, Lochgilphead, a 36 year old man was allegedly found in possession of a small quantity of Cannabis. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
