The heavy rainfall brought chaos to Ardrishaing on Loch Fyne this morning, with the volume of standing water everywhere augmented by a serious flood fromĀ – more like through – a house on the landward side of the A83 through the town.

This was pouring across the garden and onto the road, in a long continuing waterfall.
Half of it was escaping in a torrent into Loch Gilp via a gully across the road.

The rest was streaming into the village and pouring into the lochside car park opposite the Coop store.
Highway maintenance were working like demons.

Strathclyde Police closed the road and directed traffic back and up along the single track canalside road, from where, fortunately, the slip road back down to the A83 joined just north of the flooding, enabling access in both directions.
