A83: one day’s clearance done, one more to come

A83 finalScotland Transerv began today at 08:00 to remove large quantities of rock and debris from behind the barrier on the eastbound lane of the A83 at Rest and Be Thankful.

Traffic convoys have been in use on the westbound lane all day, with no major delays to journey times.

An earlier road traffic accident further south of the site was reported to the operations team in charge and extra monitoring of traffic was carried out in case this affected traffic flow at the site.

Works are expected to stop for the day shortly after 15:00 this afternoon. They will re-restart tomorrow morning at 08:00 with convoy working again in place during the day and possibly some short phases of total closure during operations – although resulting delays will be minimal.
