About half an hour ago Transport Scotland reinstated the landslide hazard warnings for the A83 at Rest and Be Thankful.
This tine drivers are advised to exercise ‘caution’ rather than the usual ‘extreme caution’.
Quite what difference either makes in practice remains to be explained.

Maybe Transport Scotland has realised that ‘extreme caution’ is a bit of a nonsense – as previously commented here – leading to questions of how one’s supposed to drive safely while carefully scanning the slopes above for imminent rockfalls and mudslides.
