Final clearance work on the A83 at Rest and Be Thankful was successfully completed yesterday evening (12th August) with a total of 1020 tonnes taken from site.
This was in addition to the tonnage already removed to clear the westbound lane which was quickly reopened, following the recent landslide.
After this debris on the eastbound side had been cleared, high pressure jetting was used to flush the culvert and following further inspection the culvert structure is now flowing freely.
A single set of traffic lights will remain on site in conjunction with the works currently taking place to install rock netting on the hillside.
