And good luck to all my chums and former colleagues and others who are mad enough to be doing this marvellous challenge for a fantastic cause - McDonald’s breakfast advertisement features Argyll
dougie, you might be right, but no-one drags folk from tearooms and cafes into McDonalds. And you can hardly blame them for litter louts dropping rubbish in the street. I live 4 miles from any McDonalds down here in West Wales and still there are wrappers lying on the floor. And in fairness their coffee is better value and taste than some of the coffee chains - Jock Dempster: hell and healing – two voyages to Murmansk
RIP Mr Dempster. And this government and the last, none of whom deserve to be mentioned in the same breath, should (but won’t) hang their heads in shame at the time it took to present the medals that you and your comrades so richly deserved for your heroic effort on the convoys. How sad that you didn’t get to wear it with pride in public. - Methadone Clinic issue also to be discussed at Campbeltown Community Council
I have commented on this Methadone subject on another forum and some folk criticised me. I am jaundiced I will admit having spent the last 20 odd years sweeping up the mess left by drug addicts. I am not against methadone clinics per say, but they must be used to wean addicts of the brown stuff. However, I had regular dealing with addicts who had been on Methadone for years, over 20 in one case. Surely the purpose is for it to be used in conjunction with a detox programme to get them off drugs? And they haven’t money for bed for sick ordinary citizens, but they have money for the minority who are addicted to heroin? Seems strange to me, but I am a dinosaur and have a cynical view of the whole drug thing - Starting at 50 today – count down the days to the Wee Pictures’ centenary
Brilliant. As I said on another thread, the folks in the Wee Toon keep dipping into their pockets and this marvellous Pictures keeps on going. Long may it continue

What a fantastic achievement, and it just shows the benefit of a union between Scotland and England in forming a strong GB.

Hang on, who do you classify as a Scot? She was born in Somerset and now lives in Scotland. Does that make her a Scot? If so, what about those like Chris Hoy who live in England but were born in Scotland? You can’t have it both ways.

The Scottish Government has claimed her here – http://www.sisport.com/sisport/7330.html – as ‘a Scot who has made onto Team GB for London 2012′.
We have made inquiries and found that Heather Stanning has lived in Lossiemouth in Moray since she was something like ten years of age and is happy to be seen as a Scot.

All being equal & assuming Heather gets picked, will she be representing Scotland or England in the Commonwealth games?

You can indeed have it both ways! If you are born in Scotland…you will always be a Scot.
But, if you come to live in Scotland and feel Scottish then that is also ok.
See, it’s not difficult at all!
