Oban lifeboat up to Mhor MIschief

The Oban lifeboat, Mora Edith Macdonald, could be said this afternoon to have been up to Mhor Mischief.

This was the name of the yacht to whose assistance she launched at 13.20 today.

The 35ft Mhor Mischief, with two aboard, had made a call to the Coastguard.

She had suffered engine failure, was becalmed near Balnagowan Island in the Firth of Lorne – and  in danger of drifting  ashore.

The lifeboat reached her at 14.00, put two lifeboat crew members aboard and set up a tow to take her in to Linnhe Marine where they arrived at 14.35.

The lifeboat was back in Oban Bay at 15.17 and was refuelled and ready for service again at 15.34.
