Campbeltown has long been wedded to the beautiful game and on 10th July, Campbeltown Museum opens a six month exhibition celebrating the history of the town’s exploits in the game.
This will be even more than a collection of rich local material on teams, games, victories, defeats and personalities.
For a short ten days (10th-23rd July), visitors will be able to see the world’s oldest football, on loan from the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum.
On 11th July there will be a special football match at Kintyre Park, kicking off at 6.00pm and between Campbeltown Pupils AFC and Greenock Morton FC.
The Kit and Caboodle Exhibition- there’s a resonant phrase – runs at the Campbeltown Museum in St John Street, presented in partnership with Campbeltown Pupils AFC.
The exhibition and the match are events close to the heart of this unique town – not to be missed.
