Comment posted Argyll First endorse Michael Breslin in Dunoon vote by David Graham.
Thanks Sandy. Clear and precise.
Robert… when posting I put SNP Govt or Coalition Govt as sometimes individuals can be unclear which Govt is being written about.
Sometimes I put Tory/Lib Govt.

- Could only happen in Argyll and Bute politics where Tory councillor is in the Administration with 3 Tories in the Opposition???
- I think the funding was under the New Schools for the Future grants.
The grants from the SNP government were made on the basis, again I think, of 60% SNP Govt-40% Council.
Bids had to be made (some time ago) to the SNP Govt and the decisions on who got a grant and how much was made by the SNP Govt.
Do not believe the grant was part of ring-fenced..non domestice rates….or the general revenue grant.
Likely there were strings attached to each award from the SNP Government.
Who decided them or what the conditions were are the questions that need answered!
- Patsy… Mr Breslin’s impact came from Mr Russell conducting himself in an inappropriate manner.
At the same husting when Mr Breslin made his announcement the Council Leader Dick Walsh said he had not been informed that the Council could use the SNP Government funding in other ways.
SNP Mr Russell tells SNP Mr Breslin and keeps the Council Leader in the dark.
If this the way the SNP operates then things for the people of Argyll and Bute may not be as rosy as first seems with an SNP led Council.
Mr Russell’s quote “that the Council could still receive support for a new primary school of its choice” is unclear. Does Mr Russell mean one new school, three refurbished primary schools or whatever.
Remember the SNP’s promise on the Ferries!

How can you make comment(throw muck at) when you do not know people’s names…and still get away with misinforming others about the Better Together Cowal group or a child from Dunoon Grammar School…when the information had been given to the organisers
Regarding your sources perhaps you will in future check their credibility and motives to tell you untruths and non facts!

Jnr Tick… The Dunoon Observer, who are organising the Referendum Hustings on Tuesday 18 March, were contacted on 18 Feb with the two names of the Better Together people attending.
I made the phone call.
It does seem strange that you picked up this misinformation at a YES rally over a week after my phone call to the Dunoon Observer.
Are you willing to say who said that NO rep from Better Together was attending apart from a child from Dunoon Grammar School?
Or is it convenient for anonymous you to speculate. speculate.
- Cowdenbeath by-election shows parties’ ebb and flow
Given that the Labour Party brought in the devolution settlement including the Scottish Parliament it is evident that independence has never been the policy of the Labour Party at Scottish or National level.
Given that the Labour Party for Independence is in its infancy and has only been around post 2011 and has never attempted as Labour Party members to change party policy towards Independence the ‘droves’ have never… to my knowledge…. campaigned within the Labour Party to change policy to supporting independence.
Labour Party members can vote for Yes in the referendum as can SNP members vote No……Members and supporters of other political parties can also vote Yes or No as well.
It is called democracy.
- Early candidate selection giving Labour a strong start in race for Argyll and Bute 2015
Patsy…. you must be mixed up between myslf and Mary Galbraith as it was me who stood at the last Westminster election in Argyll and Bute in 2010.
I do not recall an intemperate rant… whatever that is and was delighted to come in 3rd with a Labour of over 10 thousand votes for the first time in Argyll and Bute and that after being selected only 4 months before May 2010.
I am confident Mary Galbraith will increase the Labour vote significantly after being selected 20 months before May 2015.

JnrTick You certainly have a lot to say. Must sit with your laptop most of the day…. and night.
With your anonymity obviously precious to you I take it you are unlikely to ever stand to be elected by the voters as you would be required to identify yourself.
I guess you must be a Partick Thistle supporter, hence the Jnr and the Tick with a ‘k’ at the end.
Until you have the guts to say who you are…. like a number of other FA anonymous people, your comments are meaningless and empty.
Who knows you could even be arguing with yourselve as two or more anonymice could be commenting on their own comments!
