Comment posted Statement from Ron Simon by Simon.
Ron “Managing decline has to end” oh c’mon. It is your SNP Government that passed these cuts on direct to local councils!!!
If “managing decline ” has got to end – then we need a change of govt at national level…

- Dunoonmum – Actually I’m quite happy to foxtrot oscar – my man got in

But you ! Happy are you with (what Dave McEwan Hill called) the toy boats?
Is that evidence of the SNP in action?
Lowering the standards???
Reneging on election promises?????
Why not ask Dave?? (if he’s not barred…)
In your own time mum….

- SNP tightens party grip on local councillors in further chaos
Dave – “Words fail me.This is all complete and utter nonsense”.Well there’s two points immediately spring to mind from your statement:-
1. Given their nasty vicious civil war, the mess they’ve made of things and the shambolic behaviour of all concerned – to be honest ANYTHING is believable about the SNP in Argyll and Bute right now. Anything that is except words like professional, collegiate, unity, discipline, putting constituents first, etc etc.
2. “Words fail me” – well quite frankly that’s an unexpected bonus
- SNP meeting on Monday may be testing time for mega-coalition proposal
Graeme, “I think you’ll find that the individuals mentioned will be considered past their sell-by date and divisive”Well actually the recent evidence suggests that that statement could apply to most SNP Cllrs, your ex-leader, the constituency chairman, the local MSPs and yourself….

Where do you think the devolved government receives its cash from?
Its not a change of government that we need but a change of level.

Simon, you know the saying about if you have not got anything good to say?
Let’s see what you say next Friday once the snp are in administration!
I’m going to break my own advice and suggest you foxtrot Oscar……and don’t have a nice day.

Amen to that. The upside to Ron not getting in is that he can focus on getting back to full health and I am pleased for him that his place representing the ward as been taking by a fellow SNP councillor. I think it is safe to say that Ron will still be active for the SNP across Argyll and also at a local level.
Irrespective of political allegiance it would be nice to think that everyone recognises that this has been a sad year for local politics with the loss of councillors from the SNP and the Lib Dems – with that in mind I wish Ron the very best of recoveries.

Best of luck with your future endeavours. Without doublt one of the hardest working councillors In Argyll. ABC will miss your expertise but I am sure the SNP group will be on a mission to turn round this failing council.

The fact that the SNP actually lost four candidates – three of them sitting councillors – in the run up to this election makes the result – the highest number of SNP councillors ever in Argyll and Bute – very credible indeed. You will meet very few people as dogged and determined as Ron Simon and he surely will be back!
Barred from what, Simon? Ladbrokes. Never!
