Comment posted The eurozone crisis and the Independence referendum: time for proactive postponement? by Iain Hurrel.
Think you hit the nail on the head, not sure how many times you will have to hit it before that happens? SNP have done little to boost business in Argyll other than attach themself to issues that look positive, Its a one agenda party for Independence, think that needs put on the very back ring or turned off for a time.

- Concern in Lochaber and Fort William on fate of successful marketing brand
Sea food capital of Scotland ? Outdoor capital of Scotland ? All just made up names, if you went to FW what in gods name makes you think it’s a outdoor capital of Scotland? If you go to Oban what makes it the seafood capital of Scotland?
One or too things don’t make it a capital
Capital of empty shops? Capital of very slow moving traffic? Capital of no parking ? Capital of boats running aground? Capital of something but not Seafood.
You read some things and you just have to say something before my afternoon snooze,
Looking forward to the debate tonight with the very shouty, never let anyone finish a conversation or put a opinion over letting them finish, too much make up too, hiding something I think?
- 2014 Cowal Highland Gathering opened to sun and spectacular Highland dancing
I have to say we travelled down on Saturday having not been for a very good few years now, lovely drive actually. If you had read and followed all the negative guffery over the umpteen months you would expect a ghost town and ill attended Highland Games. I was not really expecting much to be honest as a brief chat with my driver confirmed it would be a short stay if the guffery was to be true of the diminishes affair.
By god we were jolted in what we found, it was very busy indeed and to our surprise the stadium was actually much bigger than it was last time I visited the converted field. I could go on but my breakfast is now prepared, we had a great time at the park and stayed until late in the town for some lovely Indian food in a lovely restaurant beside a tridtional boarded up shop, and visited a old bar (lorn) were nearly 66 yrs ago I indulged in my first taste of Whisky as a 15 year old boy down in the burgher for a shoot, lovely memories and I think a few indulging in there first drink at a bar judging by their white pasty young faces
Thank you people of Cowal for a great day, if I’m still alive I’ll be back next year too
- Conservative candidate for Ward 5 by-election first to be declared
It would be so very refreshing to to see fresh new business blood standing for our ward instead of the same old nothing seems to change anymore.
I mean where is that Neil who promised so much to everyone pre election promise? Now installed and not a peep in sight, 8 pieces of silver I’m guessing ? And that’s why we need people who will actually stand up and be counted.
I’m dreadfully sorry but I’ve forgotten that Neil’s actual second name now.
- 19th September and after
On the 19th do you think there will be any money left in The Scottish Government after all this Yes campaign is finally over? I’m fed up having my Hard paid tax spent like this.
- New award series shortlists CalMac for 2014 Business of the Year
Business of the year 2014, of course if the award was not coming from some Californian university internet site selling them for $30 it might be believable. No it’s all about selling tables at glitzy dinners hosted by events companies dishing out prizes every other week on a circuit of greed and giving awards to cosines that would never get a award in the realms of reality,
@murdoch makes a excellent point, take away all the subsides and your going to be left with a business that makes massive losses year on year, why would a public sector business with subsides like it receives even believe that they could be a business of the year in the first place?
Well done to the wee girly that sold them the tickets on that very belief for the glitzy dinner prop about £2000 a table lol oh it’s not that funny as the tax payer picks up the tab yet again.
What about most needy company of government handouts just to stay afloat every day award with a flexible time table ?
