- Radically new council group changes all the dynamics: party politics dead in Argyll
Look at the Dunoon Observer’s preview of a story about the councils sale of Castle Toward.
Maybe this is why he is in hiding?
- New council administration appears not to be what it seemed
Meanwhile, on his Hebridean holiday, Dick is stroking the fluffy white cat on his lap.
“I shall rule the world” says he.
- Labour MSP Rhoda Grant’s response to Struan Lodge decision
We previously had a load of independent councillors pulling in different directions and looking after their own patch; now we have a load of political councillors doing the same thing.
As The Who sang – Meet the new boss, the same as the old boss!
Glad the Struan Lodge folk can relax a little.
- Council latest: Convenor of SNP Constituency Association offers immunity to all SNP councillors
Have you bothered to ask anyone in authority in the SNP if your ‘story’ is true?
Opinion is one thing; opinion disguised as fact is another.
Please answer: Do you think it is right to close Struan Lodge?
- Shock for Dunoon and Struan Lodge on the closure motion agreed by Argyll and Bute Council
Well, the ones keen to close Struan Lodge better get the abacus out again as there are now only nine residents. After all this broohaha one has died.
The fragile people who live there read these bean-counter comments from people who don’t even know where the place is let alone have any relatives living there.
Struan Lodge should not be a political plaything, it is home to nine vulnerable and sensitive folk.
And James Robb, for argyll and others want to chuck them out, split up what has become a community and hasten their demise.
Councils exist to provide essential services, not to make profits. Private care homes, where the bean counters want to send the Struan Lodge residents, go bust. Frequently.
If the council needs to make savings it should look closer to home than picking on the old and infirm.
QIOs, press officers, service managers. Are they and there pensions more important than people who have served the county, and their country, well for a lifetime?
This should not be a political issue but a moral one.
