Only recently discovered ForArgyll – needs more publicity!
My fear concerning ‘The Rest’ is that there will be a terrible tragedy before anything is done to solve the current problem. As usual too much talk and not enough action! Get rid of Trident from the UK and we would have more funds for public safety and much more.

- Councillor Freeman describes ‘flop’ demonstration at Faslane this morning
I was at Faslane on Monday the turn out was less than hoped for but considering this was the last of a three day event it was pretty good; many supporters had travelled long distances for the events held on Friday and Saturday. So under these circumstances the 250 attendees confirmed by the police was a respectable number, and no way a failure as some would have us believe! As far as I’m aware there has to be two Police Officers for every campaigner, so this is why there seemed to be more Police than civilians! As always the majority of civilians were peace loving folk from CND and various Faith Groups. The Police had a job to do and were courteous and efficient. And I’m happy to say the sun shone brightly for us – and the singing was loud!
- Troubling responses to the death of Margaret Thatcher
Agree, Glenda Jackson was excellent and spoke the truth. Thatcher was a pernicious megalomaniac, whose toxic policies still permeates society today. It’s interesting to listen to the current Tory rhetoric singing her praises….more grist to the Independent mill surely!
- SNP boxed in corner over Northern and Western Isles independence move
Wow Jamie you’re so blinkered, your ‘I’m all right Jack’ attitude is naive to say the least. Comparing Tories in Westminster who have absolutely no interest in Scotland except to gain revenue, and jobless boys for the Army, with the SNP who have our interests at its core is nonsense. Don’t forget Jamie when we vote on 18-09-14 its not for the SNP its for Independence, and the opportunity to make our own decisions for a fairer society; and if ‘Yes’ fails you may find yourself a lot worse off!
- A83 Task[not]force[not]: Councillors McIntyre and Philand tried to make the point
Thanks…Councillors McIntyre and Philand for having sufficient ‘backbone’ to oppose the A83 ‘red option’…which we all know is a joke.
