  1. Of course an increase in planning fees will add to the choke off in construction. Indeed, at a time when people cannot move house, or indeed get on the property ladder because the banks will not lend, the logic of reducing the 20% VAT on home extensions could prove invaluable in getting construction folks back in a job. But of course such pump priming to get people back in work,is not a priority for our Westminster masters, or our local Argyll and Bute planning boys for that matter.

  2. On a different topic one wonders if there could be a sinister issue with regard to the recent collapse of the RBS and the National Westminster’s banking systems. In fact, whilst the bank may anodynely refer to the 3 day collapse as ” a glitch ” one wonders if in fact the glitch is a deliberate fire to ease records or delay payments. Indeed, when in comes to criminality one only has to look at the Leveson Enquiry where news International have have lost crucial e.mails held on overseas servers, whilst previously undisclosed executive director i.phones have now been lost. Yes, it is not unreasonable to suspect the worst in rotten and corrupt corporate GB.
