Comment posted Council statement on press staff suspensions and more leaked information by Hughie.
FOI requests? For goodness sake, get a grip, next you’ll be wanting to tap in to Council staff’s conversation on the phone and heaven forbid when they chat in their office, tearoom or toilet!
If, there was dialogue as it suggests, then the staff involved should have had their wrists slapped. That’s good management. Seems management in the Council are keen to switch the spotlight to the poor cooncil staff when they should be looking on their own doorstep first! 😛

- Here’s how the ‘BT Broadband Security’ scam works – a victim’s narrative
Glad you shared your experience which will help others.Surely, however, the alarm bells should have been ringing at the very fact BT phoned you to help! Everyone knows their customer support/services are shocking when a member of the public phones them (BT) so there is no way they would be phoning members of the public to help! 🙂
- Musical chairs again at Machrihanish wind tower plant – with new owner, new investment, possible new major contract and possible hike in jobs
Keep up with play chaps. The investment in infrastructure on the roads from the factory at the Machrihanish Airbase Community into Campbeltown and the harbour means the turbines will be transported by sea. Be positive for a change – this is great news. CS Winds are a major player in the world market and their takeover is superb news for Kintyre and Argyll. - Police investigation of alleged sexual assault on 76 year old woman at Campbeltown’s Auchinlee Care Home
Should be ashamed to publish this. Gutter press… - Mighty weekend finale for 2015 Oban Winter Festival
What a shame there is no mention of similar festival weekend in Campbeltown on your website. - Over £half a billion Swinney cash underspend in three years
Shouldn’t an underspend be hailed as responsible? The problem we’ve had for far too long is the irresponsible shifting of funds from one pot to the other merely to spend the money due to an underspend. If budgets and projects are under then they shouldn’t be merely shifted to another budget for the sake of it. Too much of that goes on already within Local Government already – ‘it’s year end so we better spend money for the sake of it’ when really it should be handed back. Are you saying it is better if it was an overspend?
