- New administration for Argyll and Bute Council
I intend to do research over the weekend into the possibility that the public can report the ” no-Confidence” to whatever body now monitors the standards and behaviour of councillors. They have let down the electorate, and it would appear that instead of progressing normal duties to the public, have instead been concentrating their time and efforts to self preservation.
Perhaps FOR ARGYLL or CowalCourier could do an online petition of ” We the undersigned ask for a county wide relection of Argyll & Bute Councillors, as we feel that the current administration and other councillors have lost the confidence of the electorate due to their mismanagement.” - New administration for Argyll and Bute Council
SNP voters not onlyvote to put SNP in, but also to keep others out. Similarly Libs and Tory voters did same.
This coupled with the fact that councillors seem to be spending more time, and our money, on jostling for positions and self preservation, is it not time for this whole matter to be resolved through having another local election for ALL councillors.
Only then would they have a remit from the electorate to do what they are doing, and for any voters to have confidence that the councillors are working at what they are paid to do.
Ombudsman, audit scotland or even scottish gov should investigate immediately and order this - Struan and then some: the revelation of planned elderly care provision in Argyll and Bute

if vote goes against Robb on 25th, surely his group must ask him to stand down as Leader. - Struan Lodge on agenda for today’s council meeting
For Argyll makes no mention of yesterdays meeting, so here is the news:
Council admit figure is nearer £1,000 than £1,600 ( so Clr Walsh was right!!!)
This however did not persuade Robb and his cohorts to continue with their position of not allowing more residents, well at least until the whole matter is debated again at the April Council Meeting.
So delay again, with no certain outcome, except that Clr Robb this time may NOT have sufficient support to permanently close Struan Lodge.
It does however give those councillors who voted with him, and those who abstained, to understand fully what they are voting on and this time to vote for continuance of Struan Lodge under council ownership and financial support/control.
It is hoped that they vote accordingly, even if it means the resignation of Clr Robb as Leader of the Council./

John – no idea. Was it posted to this story? I’ve been on duty since 07.45 and I’ve not removed anything.
I suggest you repost it and, provided it’s not libellous (not having seen it at all) it will get approved.
Ans apologies for the gremlins.

I note that very few have provided leaflets above. Are the candidates just too busy going door to door or are they apathetic or plain lazy in Argyll? In my particular village we have received only 2 flyers through the door (that’s out of 9 standing!).
