- First Minister’s choice not to condemn mob behaviour proves Farage point
I will ask my colleague, our Internet Services Director, to check if there was any software malfunction that might have had any impact on the Like/Dislike buttons or on scores they had already recorded – and I will report the answer in this comments chain.
For Argyll does not remove published comments and our pre-publication monitoring can be readily seen to uphold freedom of speech. - First Minister’s choice not to condemn mob behaviour proves Farage point
I can say categorically that, as a matter of policy, not one of us ever touch those buttons – to add or to subtract.
And I know we have not.
Lynda - Walsh to lead all but Lib Dems, Conservatives and George Freeman
Simple answer – lack of any political intelligence or strategic capability.
These missing pieces of necessary equipment were laid bare in the self-destructive parlour games of the last year. - Argyll and Bute Council Coalition Cup 2013: runners and riders
And then there’s the Grand National coming up on the outside rail – or the inside rail, depending on personal analyses – in 2014. - First Minister’s choice not to condemn mob behaviour proves Farage point
Scotland is clearly happy with its own lunatic fringe.
A key protester interviewed on the BBC News was given as being a representative of the ‘Radical Independence Campaign’ – also giving foundation to Mr Farage’s identification of the thugs as being supporters of Scottish independence.

It’s my fathers birthday in a couple of days so I ordered him a bottle of his favourite dram from an excellent whisky shop in Helensburgh which a couple of friends of mine own.
Their opinion on the new waitrose is that it will suck the lifeblood out of the town centre. For what is already a tough season for many shop owners will get tougher once trade gets focused away from the centre.
I made a conscious choice to support this shop despite being away at the moment. These artisan shops need our support other wise the burgh faces becoming just another clone town.

I wonder how many planning awards were given out for the roundabout in Argyll Square Oban where you have to stop and give way? Or the Tescos/Lochavullin mini roundabout that’s completely pointless….mid you the water feature’s nice!

Perhaps you’re looking in the wrong direction – aren’t roundabouts the work of our road engineers, rather than our planners? My favourite hate-object roundabout is the relatively new one on the A82 Alexandria bypass, adorned with traffic lights which – when at green – make it impossible for traffic to stay in lane on the roundabout because it was designed for traffic to enter from a stop. Trucks and buses aren’t able to stay in lane even from a standing start; a real farce, and a dangerous one at that.

It is far too small, and breaks up a good long straight!
But back on topic; what’s so good about A&Bs forestry strategy? As far I can see it’s “let’s plant trees like it’s still the 80s.”
