Comment posted A genius event to market Argyll and the Isles in the winter season by John Patrick.
There is to be Bungee Trampolines, Climbing Walls, Paintball Range, Pony Rides, Tea Cups, Bouncy Castle, Chainsaw Carving, Wild Birds, Face Painters, Sand Pits and a large Children Tent sponsored by Inveraray Jail and Argyll Adventure and much much more for children as well as the responsible drinking for adults. Last years event saw Music, Food, Drink and Activities all merge wonderfully, everyone including the children had a ball and this year promises even more. The weather last year was pretty good as I recall and the location is outstanding in front of the castle. Longer hours and the big name music acts add to what is already a well loved event in Argyll and one our visitors will be truly entertained at. It is a must for the diary and great event to highlight the start of the winter Visit Scotland marketing drive.

- A kilt in 40°C: Inveraray piper Laura McMillan now with Western Australia Police Pipe Band
Argyll has a small population but boasts more than its fair share of world class young talent. Clearly as a county we have some things working well. Pipe Major Stuart Liddell has been inspirational to many of our young citizens and so much is owed by our community to this immensely talented man. Hopefully this will be recognised officially at some point as the accolade it is well overdue. I know that Inveraray & District is looking forward to welcoming Laura back home and listening to her play again as she is indeed a very talented piper, a lovely person and a credit to Argyll.
Super uplifting story newsie in these troubled political times. More of the same please
- Meet the 2013 Inveraray & District Grade 1 Pipe Band
Very smart indeed. A credit to Inveraray & District and super advert for everything good in Argyll. I wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season and welcome home Laura.
- Scottish Government forced to intervene on loose-mouthed Russell gaffe in Campbeltown
In the grand scheme of things if this is what makes national news these days then the world is doing just fine isn’t it. Newsie was right to leave this story lying as it is no story but a funny line all the same given the occasion. Bet it was the best line of the speech, borrowed or not, sorry I missed it. Does anyone else feel the needless daggers and requirement for blood letting. Perhaps all this useless positioning is to take our minds of the real problems in the hope they will disappear when we look back round at the real world and what should really matters to us. At this rate we are heading for a clergy run state as I would not pass the current decency / lack of gaff standard required for political office in Argyll. There real people we all err.
