  • Control your emotions Anne,I think it’s for newsroom to decide what comments are relevant and as for my position in the Labour Party I should think anyone with a grasp of politics in A+B will know who I am.

As for Ulva, perhaps you could look at comment 3.

  • This appears to be an excellent idea for Ulva Primary School and the community on Mull, good luck with this project.
  • Simon, – You should know by now the SNP ignore questions that have anything to do with Jim Mather’s promise of two new ferries for the Dunoon-Gourock route.

  1. Excellent idea. Good to see this type of development at a remote communinty level. I hope it works well for them.

p.s. Since he has surfaced can somebody ask Jim Mather where are the new two new car/passenger ferres he promised for the Dunoon route??

      • Gus, this is about Ulva, not ferries or indeed the election in Dunoon. If you’re going to comment thus, at least put your cards on the table and declare yourself as the Bute and Cowal contact for the Labour party.

If you contact newsroom you might persuade them to write something under which your and Simon’s comments would actually be appropriate. Until then, let’s just stick to one thing we all agree on and that’s how brilliantly USCA is taking its community forward.

          • Yup! Comment three. Your priority?

Do you know what Gus? People really hate those political bunfights that put all their good work in the shade and persuade them that their heartfelt and brilliant efforts have simply gone over the politicians heads. Can we shake hands and agree not to do it?

  2. Ulva is not the only school to be heading down this road but it’s certainly the leader in the field. Congratulations to all the people there who put in such an enormous amount of work to get to this point.

Hopefully the people attending this event will learn things that make them think again about rural decline.

  3. Gus, “You should know by now the SNP ignore questions that have anything to do with Jim Mather’s promise of two new ferries for the Dunoon-Gourock route”

    Agreed.

But, just because the SNP ignore questions re their broken election promises – doesn’t mean that we should stop asking them…. :)

  4. What USCA has shown is that rural communities value the role of school and community link. They also show the way forward and well done to them for that.

I can see their ideas being highly sought after, not only in Scotland, but around the world. Aim high!
