I thought our dear leader was following the way of Bhutan.

- SNP meeting on Monday may be testing time for mega-coalition proposal
‘Buffoon’ – as suggested by Simon I believe – seems to fit both personae. - First Minister’s choice not to condemn mob behaviour proves Farage point
Agreed – I often find that some folk muddle UKIP with the BNP. - First Minister’s choice not to condemn mob behaviour proves Farage point
However, sometimes they do go a bit wonky – I’ve seen them add several at one time and then on a couple of occasions they have subtracted ticks. It did happen last night. To be honest, I only see it as a bit of fun so don’t feel it’s anything to get worked up about. - James Robb, as the cordite clears
So, you condone a protest that required the police to protect someone; that person had to stay in a place of safety until a police van could provide transport; a taxi driver was unable to provide transport because of potential damage to his vehicle; and where two people were arrested. What a strange person you are! - Walsh to lead all but Lib Dems, Conservatives and George Freeman
Hey ho – off we go. Feet up and pass the popcorn please.

A test case that could ultimately open the flood gates for industrialisation of our wild western waters…is nowhere now safe from commercial exploitation.
The focus on economic return, technology development and performance testing to date, has resulted in the environment being seen as an “impediment to progress” by the developers and government of Scotland, with the result that research effort has been focussed on existing UK statutory obligations to protect designated or European protected species….rather than protecting these species and the “least damaged most natural areas” of our marine environment.
The research which is now urgently needed, to derive an adequate holistic understanding of the interaction between natural resources and new technologies, and research quality evidence of the impact of deploying arrays of any form of renewable energy devices in our coastal waters is, however, essential if development of marine and offshore wind renewable energy is to fulfil its true potential in regards to protecting our planet – not only in the UK but worldwide.
Consequently, putting the marine environment centre stage and posing fundamental and genuine questions about environmental carrying capacity and maintenance of biodiversity and ecosystem functions, will enable us to assess whether low carbon technologies deployed into the marine environment are compatible with sustainable use of the natural resources. This has to be done pre-deployment and based on existing and similar locations…herein is the catch 22.
There are currently no similar ventures either proposed or operating, that will have the same environmental impact as the proposed Tiree Array.

Whereever there are oppetunities for commercial benefit, integrity frequently is pushed to one side. Combine that with a government position that is based on a belief system rather than facts or reality and you will always get poor decision making. lets us hope the cold winds of recession in Spain and elsewhere protect our delicate marine enviroment from the vanity of misguided thoughts and the nonsense of subsidies. NOw investment into real sustainable, affordable and enviromental energy options would be good but that takes intellect and vision which is wanting in our government who told us only a few years ago that we should follow the way of Ireland. With leadership of this quaility we can be sure that they have absolutely not understanding of the subject of the implication of their frivolous ideas
