MIdnight fire at Portsonachan Hotel

Guests at the Portsonachan Hotel on Loch Aweside were evacuated at midnight last night (1st August 2011) when a fire alarm went off.

A tumble dryer in the Laundry Room had gone on fire .

Three fire appliances, one from the Cruahan Power Station, rushed to the scene, dealt wiht the incident and guests were being usheed back into the hotel as Strathclyde Police arrived an hour and a half later.

We understand that the damage to the hotel is quite modest and that no open was injured.
