This was overheard in a conversation following the announcement that George Galloway had discovered that Gail Sheridan will run in the Scottish Election 2011, splitting the far left vote between himself and his Respect party and her husband Tommy’s Solidarity party.

One voice said: ‘Galloway inhales his own rhetoric’.

This wonderfully conjured the sense of the rebreathing apparatus divers use to keep themselves going – which uses their own exhaled gas, creating a form of self sustaining life.
