Lothian police search Argyll forest again in Suzanne Pilley case

Earlier today, Lothian and Borders Police conducted further searches on areas of hillside in the Rest and Be Thankful area of Argyll. Nothing of note was found.

This was part of the continuing search for the body of Edinburgh woman, Suzamme Pilley, who vanished from her workplace on 4th May 2010. Ms Pilley is thought by the police force concerned to have been murdered by her former lover, David Gilroy, who is also suspected of having dumped her body in Argyll on 5th May, the day before the 2010 General Election.

Although no body has yet been found, Mr Gilroy has been charged with Ms Pilley’s murder and his wife Alison charged with perverting the course of justice.

Lothian police have said that Mr Gilroy’s car had been deep cleaned when they impounded it, but said that they nevertheless found ‘workable’ DNA from Ms Pilley in the boot.
