Rockfall on Coffin Stone at Etive Slabs

Climbers may see the degree of difficulty regraded on the Long Reach in Glen Etive, following damage caused by a fall of several tonnes of rock on to the Coffin Stone at the Etive Slabs in Glen Etive.

The Coffin Stone is a regular rest point for climbers taking this popular route. Fortunately none were there when the rocks came down.

We understand that, generally speaking, the climbing routes in the area are not affected by the fall.
