AnElephantCant – can – do World Cup Woe

World Cup Woe Copyright Phil Burns, AnElephantCantHere come Helensburgh’s creative duo, publishers AnElephantCant, aka artist Phil Burns, drawing Jumbo’s take on the vuvuzela with writer Brian Cairnduff issuing something of a challenge to Scotland’s pipers in a Piobaireachd for what might have been. After last night’s England game with the USA, many south of the border may share the piobaireachd.

Anelephantcant find a rhyme for vuvuzela
So he’ll have to make do with a lie
But for the month coming up
In the 2010 World Cup
It’s the sound to bring tears to the eye

Yes this trumpet was at one time a weapon
To terrify the enemy types
Now as all good Scots know
You can win with a blow
On vuvuzelas just like the bagpipes!

So lets all cheer Bafana Bafana
The experts say the home team can’t advance
Although Scotland’s not there
Lets show we still care
And all dance to this chance of romance

We’d all like South Africa to triumph
If only for Nelson Mandela
So take a deep breath
And puff till you’re deaf
Play a pibroch on your vuvuzela.
