Heroes of The Beano, Dennis the Menace and his faithful hound Gnasher, are leading the Gnashional Treasure Hunt at some of the National Trust for Scotland’s Argyll properties this summer. This offers some special summer fun and hi-jinks for visiting families.
Arduaine Garden, near Oban and The Hill House, Helensburgh are both taking part in the conservation charity’s Gnashional Treasure Hunt, where young visitors have to spot the hiding Gnashers on site. Visitors who find the mischievous animal can collect pawprint stamps and swap them for prizes.
To join in with the fun, families have to be members of the National Trust for Scotland.
National Trust for Scotland Marketing Manager, Ian Gardner says: ‘The Trust is delighted to be welcoming the iconic figures of Dennis the Menace and Gnasher to Arduaine Garden for the first time and to see them returning to the Hill House in Helensburgh again this summer.
‘Whether your kids like exploring historic houses, getting close to bugs and beasties, or hearing all the gory details of battles won and lost – then this is the perfect day out for them.
‘Check out the Trust’s properties in your area and bring them along during the summer holidays – and they can put their hound-dog skills to the test and win prizes for their efforts at the same time’.
The Gnashional Treasure Hunt runs at 31 participating properties from June until 31st October and is only available to new or existing members of the National Trust for Scotland.
