In noting today Loch Fyne Oysters’ two new products aimed at sales development, it seems an appropriate time to remind local organisations and initiatives of the SJ Noble Trust.
This was formed to commemorate Johnny Noble, one of whose inventive enterprises was Loch Fyne Oysters; and to continue the work he did during a lifetime of committed engagement with his own community, whose sustainability was at the heart of most of his ventures.
Johnny Noble died in 2002. The fund created in his name exists is to help promising projects off the ground. They may be start up ventures, they may be existing organisations needing funds or expertise to develop.
The SJ Noble Fund’s core purpose is to promote rural regeneration – and this includes the alleviation of poverty in Argyll and the Isles.
Applicants to the Trust should be able to show that they could provide employment and training opportunities. Businesses offering a new or innovative service are especially welcome.
