The Mid Argyll Camera Club is showing a Prints Exhibition at Lochgilphead Community Education Centre, Manse Brae, throughout April. The Centre is open from 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday.
The 23 members’ prints are mainly from the recent annual competition of this session.
The colour and monochrome prints include those that scored highest in the club’s annual competition, such as prizewinning:
“Morning Departure” by Charlie Greenlees won the McArthur Trophy for colour prints;
“Eilean Mor Cross” by Gordon Doughty won the Dunadd Cup for monochrome prints;
a print of “Station Juggler” by Jimmy Kinloch, which won the McEwan’s Lager cup as a digital image.
As the potential of digital imaging now exceeds that of most film cameras, interest in high quality photography has blossomed. Membership of the club grew in 2009-10, and a record number of members (for recent years) entered the compettions.
