ForArgyll.com to charge £1 for a day’s access …

The Times and the Sunday Times announced last week that they would have a pay wall. And no, we’re not serious. We see the idea of a daily or weekly charge as a huge drag against growing an audience. We don’t need it –

  • The more people that read us
  • The more people click on our ads
  • The more ad revenue we get
  • The more time we can spend putting the site together
  • The more people read us …

We have a light, inexpensive news gathering operation which is focussed on our community, not wholly on profit, and certainly not on supporting the wherewithall of hot metal and distribution. We’re also highly carbon efficient, if not zero carbon (especially since we speeded up our software), and we provide news to folk across the globe. Why would we need to make you pay for it?

Of course if you wanted to make a contribution to our service you could take out an ad. Click here to reach the parts print media cannot reach.
