Kilfinan Community Forest Company has just been awarded £164.264 by the Climate Challenge Fund for work on the community forest it has just managed to buy near Tihjnabruaich.
Jim Mather, Argyll’s MSP, and his colleague, Mike Mackenzie, the SNP candidate for the Westminster Argyll and Bute seat, are congratulating the Kilfinan Community Forest Company team in its second major success in a scant few days.
Mr Mather says: ‘I never fail to be impressed, when we visit projects across Argyll and Bute, at the vision, planning and sheer hard work in making initial ideas become reality. This is clearly shown in the Kilfinan Community Forest Company’s successful application to the Climate Challenge Fund – hot on the heels of their forest becoming owned by the community of Kilfinan. Well done indeed to Michaela Hunter and the team’.
Mike MacKenzie said: ‘Kilfinan Community Forest Company in gaining ownership of the forest, have shown how endeavours such as this enrich the life of a community leading the way to further possibilities, including the Climate Challenge Fund award and all that this allows, and, in turn inspiring others to follow’.
