A road traffic accident on the A886 has closed the road in both directions in Glendaruel until 10pm tonight at least according to emergency services.
The accident happened on the wide bend between the turning to Otter Ferry and the turning to Tighnabruaich. Cars are being diverted via the coast road in both directions.
Fire engines and helicopter support indicate the seriousness of the accident.
10th April Update: Strathclyde Police have now announced that a 41-year-old man was killed after his motorbike was in collision with a Land Rover on the A886. He was pronounced dead at the scene – near Colintraive and has not yet been named.
The Land Rover driver was uninjured.
The accident happened at about 17.25 and police have called for any witnesses to come forward.












Talk of motorbikes being involved or at the scene. Of multiple vehicles leaving the road and three fire engines on scene by 7 o’clock this evening. Queues of cars and journeys around via Tighnabruaich, Otter Ferry and Strathlachlan.
