Weather delays completion of Crinan Canal repairs

The prolonged extreme weather experienced since the turn of the year has slowed progress on the engineering work being done on the Crinan canal.

British Waterways Scotland has announced that this essential work will not now be completed until Monday 29th March.

At that point, the canal and the relevant section of towpath will be reopened.

The work centres on the repair of an embankment leak found between Bellanoch Bridge and the eastern end of Bellanoch Bay.

British Waterways Scotland has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the revised schedule for completion.
