Helensburgh’s CHORD team is inviting residents and business folk in the town and its surrounding area to take part in a unique and imaginative ‘Future Walk’ through the town.
The event, on Saturday 27th March, has been organised by the firm of architects, Austin Smith Lord (ASL), which is developing the designs for the Helensburgh CHORD public realm projects on behalf of the Council.
The walks – there are two – will be hosted by Fergus Sutherland of ASL and artist Peter McCaughey. They will offer an insight into the rich history of Helensburgh, unearthing forgotten treasures and looking back through time to help frame the present and imagine what the future might hold for the town.
Two Future Walks will be held on Saturday 27th March 27, starting at 11.30am and 3.00pm. Participants are invited to gather next to the CHORD Gazebo in Colquhoun Square, near the Royal Bank of Scotland. The walk will last around 1hr 30mins
The walks are free and tea and coffee will be provided at a short plenary session after each one.
Councillor Gary Mulvaney, Chair of the Helensburgh CHORD Project Board said: ‘We are keen to involve as many people as possible in what is another innovative initiative in the bid to reach a consensus on what sort of public realm improvements people would most like to see.
‘I would urge all interested individuals and business people in Helensburgh and the surrounding area to come along and take part in these walks, which are part of the overall consultation exercise to develop the town centre and west bay esplanade through CHORD’.
