Promotion for Inveraray’s Loch Fyne Hotel

Today’s Press & Journal newspaper is featuring the Loch Fyne Hotel in Inveraray.

Headlined ‘None Finer’, the piece has an attention grabbing, mischievous opening paragraph: ‘Gordon Brown and Alistair darling ave given everyone in Britain something to dislike about Scotland – but in Beautiful Argyll, Ryan Crighton found the remedy’.

It majors on the spectacular setting of the hotel, looking across Loch Fyne to the hills of Cowal and northwards toward the head of Loch Fyne.

It mentions the swimming pool and spa – but doesn’t say that the glass front wall of the swimming pool comes dow to floor leel – so this is the view you get as you swim.

Another touch of mischief betrays the fact – which the paper’s sub-editor has missed – that the piece was written at an earlier time. It conveys the sense of release in the comfort of the hotel by painting an arrival ‘in a George Burley-induced state of perpetual gloom’.

George Burley? Who he?

Tough on Craig Levein, the new Coach of the Scotland football team who has just given the country a forgotten experience of victory.
