I support this too.
I don’t like opening my curtains in the morning to see someone camping in the park and their big bare bum on display whilst they pee in the bushes.
Then there’s the campervan thats been holidaying in the carpark for the last 2 months.
“Where did you go on holiday?” “Oh Luss Carpark. Nicest tarmac I’ve ever seen.”

Thinking out loud here, but would some kind of licencing system work for campers?
However, we’re actually being diverted from the real problem with the Park and you raise it a bit with the Park Rangers.
Let me put it in this context -
Any event or attraction that brings in the volume of people that the Park does – and sometimes that could be thousands of people all to one small area, for example Luss – would receive a special Police presence or indeed a contracted Security Company to manage these people.
Park Rangers are based in Carrochan House in Balloch. They need to be based in the hotspots around and in the Loch to see and manage these situations as they happen.
The National Park receives no more Policing than any other RURAL area, except for Balloch. They need to increase their numbers not only to deal with incidents, but also to enforce the law and by-laws that are in place and supposed to be preventing a lot of the anti-social behaviour from happening.
Surely this is the real problem needing addressed?

In my opinion, the legislation for open access/right to roam/camp anywhere – except in someone’s back yard – has done more harm than good. For those of us who wander in the hills, leaving hardly a footprint, the damage can be seen everywhere and campsites are now full of noisy ‘glampers’; many have become crammed static sites.
However, there are still some areas, even in Argyll, that remain relatively unscathed and unknown to those who do not respect our beutiful environment. Long may they remain a secret.

I regularly enjoy kayaking to various islands on the Loch and have on occasion camped with my young sons. I have seen the devastation left by what i would term as neds.
Surely they are in the minority an most people who camp respect their surroundings.
A blanket ban, would in my opinion target the responsible people.
Would some sort of scheme whereby people left notice of where they intend camping not be possible?
As Park Rangers will have to up their patrols to eradicate wild camping anyway, they could be given powers to fine people they find leaving litter, cutting down trees etc.
