Blair back for election: start it in Argyll – turn him off, turn your back

The disgraced former Prime Minister, who is costing us £2 million a year to keep safe, is being brought back to ‘help’ Gordon Brown in the coming General Election campaign.

This is the man we have just come to know has taken £1 million for ‘advice’ from the Al Sabah ruling family of Kuwait, the country Saddam Hussein invaded to trigger the first Gulf War, led by George Bush Snr.

And not just this but a second and more troubling take, both of which the toxic carpetbagger has fought for two years to keep secret from the British people.

The second is an undisclosed but clearly significant amount he has ‘accepted’ from South Korean oil firm, UI Energy Corporation which happens to have extensive oil interests in – yes – Iraq.

This story was broken on Friday (19th March) by the Daily Mail in one of the most painful front page story juxtapositions we’ve seen.

On the left was the splash story breaking the Blair cash grab on the basis of the alliance with George W Bush through which he took this country illegally to war with Iraq. Blair’s part of the intended endgame is now in his back pocket.

Beside this corruption was the second story, led by a photograph of the brave and spirited Christina Schmid, holding the citation for the George Cross awarded posthumously to her dead husband, army bomb disposal expert, Staff Sergeant Olaf Schmid. Schmid was blown up by an explosive device he was defusing in Afghanistan, the first joint adventure of the Bush/Blair axis of evil.

One of these two is truly rich. The other is a charlatan – but shortly coming to a television screen near you.

We can’t throw eggs. We can’t even wear anti-Blair T-shirts without being banged up. This is thanks to the horrifyingly anti-democratic legislation rushed through by the Blunkett who once sent tanks to Heathrow to scare the unhappy British public into submission on the ‘war against terror’.

What we can do – and we can start right here in Argyll, is a powerful, silent and non-violent protest. Every time the desperately grinning face of Blair appears on our TV screens – we can turn off or change channels at once. The ratings measuring mechanisms will register those protest switches.

And if anyone is anywhere when, under heavy guard, the man himself is present or appears, we can simply turn our backs on him on silence.

And we can vote for anyone but Brown.
