Possible key merger following Argyll Sustainable Design Awards

Fergus Murray, Development Policy Manager for Argyll and Bute Council has added an interesting note to the prompt aide memoire he issued after the Sustainable Design Awards event in Oban on Friday (12th February).

A possible merger of two key bodies – the Sustainable Design Forum and the Construction Excellence Forum – could see the emergence of a one-stop-shop for all aspects of sustainable design and construction development in Argyll.

He says: ‘The local construction industry, their customers and regulators all face challenging times in the years ahead and I therefore believe a body such as the one outlined above is essential if the local industry is to survive and take advantage of future opportunities.’

Mr Murray will keep us in touch with any movement on this initiative and we will publish the details.
