The paper has also had fun with a front page filler – ‘Oh deer’ – reporting police in Islay’s Port Ellen wrestling to free a red deer which had trapped itself in the goal nets of the Charlotte Street pitch. According to the reporter, once freed, the deer left the scene ‘red faced’.
