Following the community meeting at the end of January, chaired by Jim Mather, the Dunoon Burgh Hall team has recorded no fewer than 30 people at the next committee meeting and a lot more signing up as friends, helpers and volunteers.
Those involved in the project are delighted at the development, seeing the sense of community ownership of the initiative grow significantly.
The team’s gratitude to Dunoon-born architect, John McAslan and his family foundation for inspirational support for the project and to Jim Mather, Argyll’s MSP, for his contribution to the meeting, has painted an inspiring picture. ‘Every week now, we have new faces with new ideas and new energy which reaffirms that our vision to save and restore the hall was one of the better ideas many of us have had’.
