…all is not lost. Campbell and Doug Carmichael have swopped Drivetime slots on Oban FM this week. Doug sat in on last night’s show (24th February) and Campbell is doing the Friday night show (26th February).
Campbell says: ‘It suits me fine to do the Friday show as we will have Southampton based Celtic Rock band Coast in for a wee live acoustic tune with a bit of luck. We are still finalising the details but the band are on tour and playing the Skipinnish Ceilidh House in Oban on Friday and it seems too good a chance to miss.’
Coast are influenced by Dire Straits and Highland Heroes, Runrig. They’ve been described as ‘awesome’ by no less a figure than Bruce Guthro, the Runrig lead vocalist. Campbell’s top track from the album ‘Coast’ is Oceanos – check it out at Coastrock.
Friday’s Drivetime is also aiming to have Scottish Opera on to chat about playing the Victory Hall in Benderloch next Thursday March 4th – see our previous story on this event.
