On Wednesday afternoon (24th February) a crash on the A816 at Kilninver near Oban, at 2.00pm, between a Land Rover Defender and a tanker saw the driver of the defender dead. The 44 year-old man was Lachlan McKellar from Lochgilphead.
In a second fatal road accident in Argyll, a crash between a car and a lorry on the A85 near Dalmally in the small hours before 4.00am yesterday (25th February) saw an 85 year-old woman dead. The 61 year-old driver was taken to Lorn and the Isles General Hospital in Oban and later released after treatment but the woman died at the scene of the accident. There was no injury to the driver of the lorry
In both of these cases, Strathclyde Police have asked for witnesses to come forward.
