Connel-based Rally driver Shaun Sinclair has received the accolade of 4th place in the ‘Top Ten best Asphalt rally drivers’ in the influential Motorsports News review of the year.
Despite limited experience on the asphalt surface, Sinclair and his co- driver Chris Hamill from Kilmore, took second place in the Scottish Tarmack Rally Championship and seventh on the Tour of Mull and impressed the reviewers at the London based newspaper with their success.
The Motoring News recognition tops a year when the twosome finished 1st in Class 10 and 6th overall in the Scottish Rally championship – and Chris won the Group N Co-drivers award.
The Sinclair Plant Rally team now plans a full assault on the Scottish Rally championship this season with their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9, beginning with the Snowman Rally around Inverness in February.
And the way the weather’s going, they could run that rally anytime.
