Have to share the latest Mrs Robinson joke

Today’s papers allege that Iris Robinson MP, 60 year old wife of First Minister of Northern Ireland, Peter Robinson was wont to smuggle her 19 year old lover into the family home for trysts in the marital bed.

A wit in the For Argyll team said immediately: ‘Did she remember to put the cot sides up first?’

  1. That’s what they do in care homes. She’s not that old, is she?

On reflection that’s a very ungenerous comment and despite my distaste for some of her expressed views (and for the DUP) I have a great deal of sympathy for any human being in the distress in which she now finds herself. There but for the grace of God…………….

Had the genders been reversed the public reaction would have been one of amused tolerance and boys will be boys…..

The £50,000 is another matter, of course.

I suspect there is more to this peculiar relationship ( or perhaps lack of one) than meets the eye.

  2. I read that the Northern Ireland Food Standards Agency has closed down McCambley’s butcher shop. It is suspected of being a source of an outbreak of mad cow disease.

  3. It appears from latest reports that Mrs Robinson was something of a serial frolicker for a number of years.

Something very strange here. Must have been something lacking.
At least she appears to have suffered from no sectarian bias in her choices.

I didn’t Peter Mr Robinson’s appearance on the TV a couple of days ago and I buy it less now. I thought it sounded self-serving at the time and did his wife no favours despite the sanctimonious tone.
It would be nice if I was wrong about this.
