The elite but financially troubled Loch Lomond Golf Club – and not alone in that position in the golfing world at the moment – has launched its luxurious new initiative.

The Club, host to the Barclays’ Scottish Open Golf Championships, has opened the Walled Garden Spa Retreat, set inside the historic walled garden within its grounds.

The exclusive – what else? – spa is offering day and residential experiences and, if you book by the end of February, a special introductory offer of £95.

This will see you with a refreshing ‘welcome’ smoothie; relaxation in the thermal suite; a 55 minute treatment of your choice; and lunch in the conservatory.

It is also selling Gift Vouchers which, at this time of the year, might be a treat as a Christmas present.
